Your ordinances, in one place, searchable by anyone.
Most small villages keep 40 years of ordinances as loose PDFs and paper files. We turn all of it into one organized code your clerk, your board and your residents can search in seconds.
Fixed price. Weeks, not months. Your village attorney reviews everything before the board adopts a word.
The real thing holds the complete code: every ordinance, full text, with a link to the original document on every page.
How it works
We do the heavy lifting
Send nothing. We collect every ordinance you've published, organize all of it by subject into titles and chapters, and flag anything that conflicts or looks superseded.
Your attorney reviews
The draft goes to your village attorney with our working notes. They keep final authority over every line. We correct, they approve, the board adopts.
Your code goes online
A clean, searchable site under your village's name, readable on any phone. When the board passes a new ordinance, we fold it in. That's the whole service.
Why villages do this now
Residents call the clerk's office for things the code already answers: burning, dogs, permits, snow routes. A searchable code answers them at 11pm on a Saturday, and the clerk gets their day back.
There's also a deadline coming. Federal accessibility rules for local-government websites (ADA Title II, WCAG 2.1 AA) reach municipalities under 50,000 people on April 26, 2028, and scanned PDF ordinances don't pass. An organized digital code does.
The big codification companies do good work for cities with big budgets. A village of 1,500 people waits months and pays city prices. We built Village Codes for the villages they don't serve.
What it costs
$2,500 to $8,500, fixed
The quote depends on how many ordinances you have and how they're kept today. You'll know the exact number before you commit a dollar, and it doesn't change.
Keeping the code current after adoption: $950 per year, including every new ordinance the board passes.
No contract term. If we're not useful, stop paying and keep your files.
See your own code, organized, before you pay anything
Tell us your village's name. Within a week we'll send back a working sample built from your published ordinances, like the one above, at no cost and with no obligation. If the board likes it, we finish the job. If not, you've lost nothing.
